New Report Critical of California's Efforts on Child Nutrition
01/04/2007 - A new report released by Children Now skewers California's efforts in promoting healthy nutrition for children, but gives higher marks to the state's afterschool programs. The report, 2006-07 California Report Card, gives the state a D+ in child nutirion and a B+ for its afterschool programs. According to the report, one in three children between the ages of 6 and 17 is obese or overweight. The non partisian "Report Card" is issued every year by Children Now, and highlights critical issues affecting children's well-being.
